BBQ CONCEPTS INC. is a company devoted and driven in providing outstanding BBQ in comfortable, profitable locations for potential store owners just like you.

Our team has been cooking Southern BBQ for nearly 20 years here in Canada. During this time we have received over 50 Awards at cooking competitions and have been the benefactors of many reviews for our BBQ.

Each store carries an individual name that is owned by you. It is tied in with our Wicked Wings theme and our Logo the “Famous Pig“.

You are assured of Brand recognition, and our extensive history in this dynamic cuisine.

Most importantly, you will never pay a franchise fee!! Owning a BBQ CONCEPTS INC Store is a one time cost. You will never pay a franchise or advertising fee once you are handed the keys to your own unique store.

The average franchise company wants you to help make them rich! Excessive fees up front. Inflated construction costs. Monthly franchise  fees of approximately 10% including advertising. Are you prepared to become their employee for the next 20 years? Not at BBQ CONCEPTS INC.

Our goal is to build, instruct, assist and move on knowing you have the tools, recipe and experience to succeed. Don’t think we will ever be far away…

Our ownership and management team will always be available for any assistance. Our team will be on a consulting agreement with you to provide any service required. An agreed upon rate will be charged based on time allocated. If you don’t need us, no fee will ever be charged.

Who We Are

Our team has over 20 years experience in the Hospitality Industry.

In 1994 we opened the Purple Pig Famous Smokehouse in Aurora. From 1994 to 2004 we opened 6 locations across Ontario. In 2004 we sold our interests in the Purple Pig.

In 2006 we opened Memphis BBQ & Wicked Wings in Woodbridge Ontario.

In 2009 we opened Big Bone BBQ & Wicked Wings in Newmarket Ontario.

During the past 15 years we have won over 50 Awards in BBQ Competitions across the province.

We have developed a cooking technique over the years that has encompassed various recipes and flavors from BBQ Champions from across the United States.

To date we have been reviewed by the Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, National Post, Toronto Life Magazine and an assortment of community papers.

Our opening statement for any new location is “ Canadian BBQ Champs are Coming “.

With a statement like that and a history like ours, we are prepared to make any location a success.

Our team is comprised of many long serving members that cover all sides of the operation. The inner management team has worked together for over 15 years, and will become the face of your new location as we work through the initial stages of opening.

 

Strategy to Success

The key to success? Making a profit that is worthy of your time and effort!

Our stores are a one time cost. There are never any secret fees or advertising costs after you have assumed ownership.

Our goal as a company is to create the most profitable business with our award winning menu.

How do we go about achieving this?

  • Locations that are suitable in size to maximize revenues. Small stores with approximately 25-40 seats
  • Rental Rates that are approximately 5% of revenues or less
  • Staffing Costs of approximately 12% of revenues
  • Accepting only Debit and Cash, and eliminating the unnecessary costs associated with credit card fees
  • Contracted prices on all key menu items that we negotiate on all of our behalf
  • Limited but highly effective marketing directed towards early success. Our marketing costs represent a minimum
    overhead in operations
  • External Catering and Event opportunities
  • Effective pricing and profitability levels in menu

Concept

BBQ CONCEPTS INC is an emerging new spirit in the world of hospitality. Too many tired concepts being run by corporations who are concerned with their bottom line….not yours.

The era of boxstore mentality has bred a stale culture in the food service industry that has taken the “special” out of the experience.

Intimate, personalized and Owner controlled. People want to meet the person cooking and selling them the experience. They don’t want the half effort provided by franchises from people who don’t really care! They want to feel their business

Our stores are built to be run by a maximum of 4 employees. You and a family member surrounded by an upbeat staff can handle business that would require double the staff in a larger store. Effective organization can generate well over 250-300 customers per day.

Special event days like the Super Bowl, can generate incredible sales, and are definitely considered our impact days.

Special promotions such as our Monday Mania create excellent traffic and sales even on days considered “down days “. Cash flows generated on these days keep your staff and sales moving at all times.

The greatest thing about our concepts? We love our customers, and our customers love us. Our atmosphere is exciting and rewarding. You will be the creator of the best BBQ food in Canada! Compare that feeling with what other groups are trying to sell you.

Support

After locating and building your store, our Management team takes charge!

For a 3 month period we will operate the location with you and your team by our side.

During this time all cooking and operational responsibilities will be assumed by us. We will teach you at every step of the way.

During this period, all our new customers will also become very comfortable with you and your eventual team. Our transition will be gradual and effective. Opening can be a stressful time, we take that responsibility away from you.

Upon the three month training period ending you will have been so fully trained and comfortable, you will now be able to assume the mantle of being past of BBQ CONCEPTS INC -  Canadian BBQ Champs.

Your success will always be paramount to our success. Being part of the team can only be deemed a success if your store is successful.

Our management team will always be available to you. Whether it be marketing, staffing, purchasing or any other concern, we will be there for you. A predetermined consulting fee will be charged hourly for time devoted to.

Conversions & Retrofits:

Are you an existing restaurant owner? Are you buried under the stress of a business losing money and sales?

Too often a business can suffer a decline in revenues with no apparent recovery available. Owners working long hours with limited return on their time creates an unstable environment for the employees and clientele.

Hospitality is designed to be a positive fun experience for your customers. If you are failing to provide a complete experience for your customers, your business is doomed to fail.

Barbeque Concepts can address these problems with a bold powerful approach to getting your business back to a profitable, energized operation.

Our team will assess and evaluate your store and build a new concept that will succeed in today’s highly competitive industry.

A complete evaluation and budget for necessary conversions will be proposed, providing you the opportunity to start again.

Extensive budgetary concerns and debt repayments will become a primary focus in the conversion.

Costs on conversions are done on individual store requirements. Time spent on your site after the conversion is determined as part of the agreement, and can consist of 1-3 months upon opening of store.

Financial Requirements

To maximize on costs, we prefer to build stores out of existing locations.

Optimum size is approximately 1200 sq ft.

Potential store owner should possess approximately $250,000 in unencumbered assets.

Store costs not including opening inventory are approximately $225,000 to $250,000

Upon acceptance of offer to open a BBQ CONCEPTS INC location, a deposit of $10,000 is due and payable.

Upon negotiated lease being signed,remainder of monies are due and payable.This amount will be predetermined prior to signing of lease.

Total price being paid will cover all expenses incurred in constructing a BBQ CONCEPTS INC location, including the 3 month management cost at opening.

Opening inventory is estimated at approximately $15,000

Marketing budget for the opening will be approximately $5,000

BBQ CONCEPTS INC will be acting as the consultant on your behalf. No franchise agreement or fees will be excercised. A licencing agreement for the use of specific trademarks in your operation will be executed as part of the agreement.
